Toronto has beautiful attractions and must-see places. Tickets are not cheap and there are many places with queues in high season (July and August). To better plan and save time, you can buy many tickets online. But what is worth it?
It is increasingly common to buy tickets online, whether for museums, viewpoints like the CN Tower and other tourist attractions. The problem is that we never know if we are paying the same price, cheaper or much more expensive.
That's why I'm going to analyse Toronto tickets here, comparing "real prices" from ticket offices and official websites, with prices from one of the main ticket websites operating in Canada.

City Pass Toronto - What it is and if it's worth buying
CityPass Toronto (official website) is one of those old ticket booklets. It can still be bought in detachable booklet format, but today it sends digital tickets. It includes tickets to 5 major Toronto attractions:
CN Tower
Ripley's Aquarium
Casa Loma
Royal Ontario Museum
Toronto Zoo OR Ontario Science Centre
Where to buy: on the official website or at any of the attractions listed above. Then you can buy online and arrive in Toronto with all your tickets on your mobile phone.
Savings: comparing the price of the CityPass with all the tickets you are entitled to, the savings is 34%. But you need to visit all the places to make it worthwhile.
Is it worth it? Only if you have time to visit all the sites. In a quick itinerary, for example in this 2 to 4 days itinerary in Toronto, which has other interesting places to visit, I don't think it pays off.
Tickets in Toronto - How much they cost and what is worth booking
In Canada there is practically no inflation, but these values may increase in a while. In any case, they will probably increase similarly at the box office and booking sites. And here you will find out where to buy and where to compare prices, so it will be valid for a few years.
Watch out for currency. Canadian attractions' websites show their prices in Canadian Dollar, while the online agency indicated has Euro or Dollar as standard. To compare better, switch to Canadian Dollar (CAD).
CN Tower
Local price: 38 CAD at the ticket office and same price on the official website.
Price on booking sites: not for sale on major booking sites, only on packages that include excursions.
Ripley's Aquarium of Canada
Local price: 30-37 CAD for adults at the box office and on the official website.
Price on booking sites: there is a skip-the-line ticket, for a slightly higher cost, here on the Get Your Guide website.
Is it worth buying this ticket in advance? It depends. Only if you want to avoid queues, which are more common on weekends and during holiday months and high season.
Royal Ontario Museum
Local price: 20 CAD for adults at the ticket office and on the official website.
Is it worth buying this ticket in advance? Yes!
Casa Loma
Local price: 32 CAD for adults at the ticket office and on the official website.

Is it worth buying this ticket in advance? No.
Art Gallery of Ontario

Is it worth buying this ticket in advance? It's still worth it. The advantage of buying in cash at the local ticket office is to avoid the IOF of the credit card.

Is it worth buying this ticket in advance? It depends. The advantage of buying in cash at the local box office is to avoid the IOF of the credit card.
